Job Opportunity: Startup Weekend Beijing Event Marketing Coordinator

Startup Weekend Beijing, which is run by Red Pagoda Resources (a recruiting business focused solely on finding exceptional talent for visionary VC-backed companies in China) has an amazing track record of attracting some of China’s most passionate and talented entrepreneurs who have been funded by top investors like Kai-Fu Lee’s Innovation Works. And our VC and angel investor coaches have included Yinan Li, Partner at GSR Ventures and former Baidu CTO, and Robin Chan, angel investor in Twitter and FourSquare.
To make 2012 an even more memorable year for Startup Weekend Beijing, we are looking for a creative, detail-oriented and highly responsible self-starter to join our team.
Duties:
•Create and maintain content for event website(s)
•Evaluate, select and implement social and traditional media activities for promoting event(s)
•Identify and coordinate contact with venture capital and angel investors
•Manage email lists including ensuring data quality as well as creating suitable categories for classifying records in database
•Evaluate applications for and make recommendations for extending invitations to Startup Weekend Beijing events
•Coordinate and oversee all onsite event logistics
•Assess event outcomes and make recommendations for even more successful future events
Qualifications:
•Solid web development skills and experience
•Basic graphic design ability
•Effortlessly generate effective and creative marketing ideas and tactics
•Strong copy writing skills in either English or Chinese
•Excellent analytical ability and sound business judgment
•Experience creating email marketing campaigns and maintaining email lists
•Strong desire to learn about Internet and mobile Internet space in China
•A team player willing to pitch in and do whatever is necessary to make events a success
