Job Title:  Mechanical Engineer (China)

Reports To:  Engineering Manager (China)

Department:   Engineering

SUMMARY

- Designs mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems.

JOB DUTIES

- Design systems comprised of both mechanical and electro-mechanical components from marketing specifications.

- Uses Project Management principles in developing project schedules, and with input from management, execute projects on time and within the allotted budget.

- Identify and correct manufacturing problems.

- Uses feedback from a variety of sources to improve quality and generate new products.

- Evaluates competitive designs, and recommends new improved designs.

- Develop testing procedures, analyze data and determine whether a design meets functional and performance specifications.

- Identify and evaluate capabilities of vendors.

- Initiates Engineering Change Requests.

- Design to meet FDA, UL and ISO 9001 guidelines. 

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE

- 10+ years experience in product design of capital equipment or electro-mechanical systems

- Experience in design of sheet metal, plastic enclosures, and electro-mechanical mechanisms

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

- Practical knowledge of spoken and written English (CET-6 equivalent)

- 3-dimensional Computer Aided Design experience (Solidworks, Pro-Engineer or similar)

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL FACTORS

- Stand, walk, constant computer use (at least 4 hours a day).

- Mixed environment – Office and factory

- Occasional travel to USA
